CircleMED partner CTA (Technological Corporation of Andalusia) gathered online the Local Advisory Board: a selected group of stakeholders in the region, to discuss the topics of:
- waste management;
- water management;
- sustainable toursim.
The Local Advisory Board will be involved at various stages during the CircleMED project, to discuss citizens’ behaviours, the “circularity assessment” digital tool for enterprises, and circular policies.
The CircleMED project partnership identified two circularity domains of “common interest”: waste management and water managemet, which will be analysed and further developed by all partners. On the other hand, each partner identified a third domain, specific to each own’s local and regional context and ecosystem.
The Technological Corporation of Andalusia chose to focus specifically on circular economy in the tourism sector. Tourism is in fact a major industry in Andalusia. Sustainable tourism practices can minimize environmental impact, conserve natural resources, and promote cultural heritage.
In this sense, various pillars of the circular economy can be beneficial, such as Reducing resource consumption and waste generation in tourism activities; promoting the Reuse of materials; Repairing and maintaining historical sites; implementing Recycling programmes.
